Small Business Micro-Grant
This is a Micro-Grant program funded by the Roane County Economic Development Authority to assist small businesses in Roane County impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Program Overview:
- A one-time grant award up to $2,000 for 50 eligible businesses with no repayment required unless the awardee fails to comply with the requirements. (This is not a loan).
- Limited to one award per business entity/business owner.
- Eligible grant use: Business related expenditures for improvements, rent/mortgage, inventory, utility costs, payroll and other applicable overhead.
Criteria for Eligible Businesses:
- Must be a registered Roane County business entity in good standing with the State of West Virginia;
- Have a physical establishment within Roane County;
- Have no more than 15 full-Time employees (as of April 1, 2020);
- Have no pre-existing tax liens or legal judgements;
The following entities are NOT eligible:
- Home-based businesses
- Churches
- Non-profit organizations
- Banks & financial institutions
- Investment real-estate entities
- Government agencies
- Members of the Roane County Economic Development Authority’s Board of Directors
Application and Review:
- Applications will be processed on a first come, first serve basis.
- Applications will be reviewed by the Roane County EDA Staff and submitted to the Board of Directors Review Committee. All decisions shall be final.
- Awardees will be required to complete a disbursement form and must be able to produce receipts.
- Details of the application will be confidential.
- By accepting this Micro-Grant, awardees consent to be included in marketing and promotional materials.
- Strongly encourage you to attend an SBA webinar and apply for SBA CARES PPP (P3) or EIDL Programs.
